PDT PUKULAN PENTJAK SILAT BUKTI NEGARA EUROPE
Where quality stands over quantity!
At the Memorial Camp Heidelberg in honor of our founders Oom Dolf de Vries and Oom Paul the Thouars, students, training brothers and uncles, all blended in as one. Hard training combined with deep knowledge, teachers and students learning together. It is how we honor our teachers and the teachers before them: Dedication, precision, always train to the maximum of your abilities.
They didn’t leave us a copy; they laid a foundation on which we can now build. Development leaves no room for egos, one standing above another. Development is the understanding that where one teaches, two learn.
With Walter van den Broeke as technical director PDT Pukulan Pentjak Silat Bukti Negara and Serak the old and new knowledge has been brought together. Handing us the building blocks to a deeper understanding. After all, the best teachers are those who don’t tell you what to see, but show you where to look.
This weekend we were honored with the presence of people who share the same values. People who cherish old knowledge and are acquiring new by refining their techniques and work hard for it.
Oom Jelle Dezentje received from NFK/NPSF (Dutch Martial Art Federation/ Dutch Pencak Silat Federation) a deserved recognition as Pendekar in the Art of Pukulan Pak Serak. Modest, shy even by being in the spotlight, he accepted the acknowledgment in the presence of Cecep Arif Rahman, who even trained at Oom Jelle’s house!
Cecep, being a world famous Pencak Silat trainer and starring in several movies like “The Raid” and “Star Wars The Awakening” to name a few, keeps developing himself for the benefit of the students he’s teaching in English at the middle school in Indonesia. “It would be hard to maintain our true self if we leave our roots.”
The Ambassador of Indonesia, I Gusti Agung Wesaka Puja, who, as busy as he is, has a listening ear for everyone. Valuing traditions, maintaining the Indonesian culture, including Pencak Silat, and stimulating to develop. “In everything you do, act from the heart”.
Closing of the day was a nice dinner at Bali James Breda with the
Ambassador of Indonesia and his wife,
Mr. Danang, Indonesian attaché of Foreign Affairs,
Olivier Blancquaert, President NPSF,
Cecep A. Rahman, Secretaris Generaal Head Quarter Panglipur Indonesia,
Walter v.d. Broeke, Technical Director PDT Pukulan Pentjak Silat Bukti Negara & Head European Branch
As Walter announced in Heidelberg from this moment on we will work on BN Europe as an independent organization. For our roots and heart tell us that quality will last over quantity!
